About The National Park

Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake located in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, approximately 90 km
northwest of Nairobi. It is one of the most popular safari and weekend getaway destinations, known for
its scenic beauty, rich birdlife, and peaceful atmosphere surrounded by acacia forests and volcanic
landscapes.
The lake sits at an altitude of about 1,884 meters above sea level and is fed by rivers from the
surrounding highlands, with no visible outlet, making it a unique ecological system.
Wildlife & Birdlife
Lake Naivasha is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including:

  • Hippos living in the lake waters
  • Giraffes and zebras around Crescent Island
