Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve

About The National Park

Samburu National Reserve is a beautiful and unique wildlife destination located in northern Kenya, along
the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Samburu County. It is known for its semi-arid landscapes, striking
scenery, and rare wildlife species that are not commonly found in other Kenyan parks.
The reserve offers a more remote and authentic safari experience, with fewer crowds and rich cultural
interactions with the Samburu people.
Wildlife in Samburu
Samburu is famous for the “Samburu Special Five”, which include:

  • Grevy’s zebra
  • Reticulated giraffe
  • Beisa oryx
  • Gerenuk (long-necked antelope)
  • Somali ostrich

It also hosts elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles, hippos, and many bird species.
